Huddersfield sports nostalgia - 1954 to 2013

Are you featured in these pictures of local sports teams?

Whether it be football, bowls, netball or table tennis our town has a great amateur sporting history.

We all know Town won the First Division three times in a row in the Twenties and the game of Rugby League was born at The George Hotel, but local sport has always been highly respected in the county, with the various leagues and cup competitions spoken about highly.

There have been some very high profile cricketers playing in the local leagues including Garry Sobers at Elland and Wes Hall at Paddock.

Footballers that have played in the area include Bobby Campbell, Len White and John McAlliskey.

There are a good mix of pictures below that cover a large range of sports, so have a look through and see if you can spot yourself or a friend in the line-ups.
