Police have made a new appeal to get witnesses to an attack outside a Kirklees nightclub.

They are appealing for information after a male teenager suffered a broken jaw in an assault outside the Frontier nightclub in Batley last month.

The offence happened between 3.45am and 3.55am on Sunday, December 13, when the 17-year-old victim was waiting with a friend for a taxi outside the nightclub in Bradford Road.

Police are appealing for information after a male teenager suffered a broken jaw in an assault outside the Frontier nightclub in Batley.

The 17-year-old victim was waiting with a friend for a taxi outside the nightclub in Bradford Road when he was approached by an unknown man who punched him to the face causing him to fall to the ground. He suffered a broken jaw and other facial injuries.

The man involved is described as white, around 19-years-old, approximately 6ft, stocky, with fair-coloured spiky hair. He was wearing a black bomber jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone who witnessed the assault, which happened between 3.45am and 3.55am on Sunday, December 13, or with any other information which could aid the ongoing investigation is asked to contact Detective Constable Oliver Coates in Kirklees District CID via 101.

It’s been another busy morning, and these are the three most-read news stories on the Examiner website so far today.

1) The flood-damaged Elland Bridge will have to be demolished and replaced according to the area’s politicians.

It will take around a year for the massive project to be completed. But the town has been offered a temporary bridge from a businessman and a temporary footbridge is already in place. The story is here.

2) A parking company agreed to waive a couple’s fine – then cashed their cheque. Gillian and Martin Scott were hit with a charge for overstaying their prepaid time at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. You can see more here.

3) One of Huddersfield’s best-known pubs, The Nags Head at Ainley Top, is to close for six weeks for a makeover costing more than £500,000. The story is here.

Police investigating sexual assaults on two women in Huddersfield are appealing for the driver of a vehicle who assisted one of the victims to come forward.

Two women, aged 49 and 57, were the reported victims of indecent touching offences in the Paddock/Longroyd Bridge areas of the town between 5.50am and 6.10am on Wednesday, 23 December.

Officers are keen to speak to the driver and any other occupants of a white van, possibly a minibus, who gave one of the women a lift to Huddersfield Police Station shortly after 6am that morning.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kirklees District CID via 101.

Mohamed Adam, 26, of North Street, Lockwood has been charged with two counts of indecent touching and has been remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 26 January.
