Wondering when Easter is this year already? Apparently you’re not alone because it’s number two most read at the moment. Does no one need a break from excessive chocolate consumption?;)

And in pole position is the photo story filled with amazing new pictures that show the havoc wreaked by the Christmas floods in Brighouse and Elland.

We’ve cleared up the mysterious police incident on the M62 earlier. It turns out it was a false alarm. Police were called at 2.11pm by a motorist who said he had seen suspicious behaviour on motorway bridge near J26. Traffic officers went out and found a man on the bridge taking pictures - which is not a crime.

One of those unfortunate ones for all involved!

High Street in Huddersfield town centre has been closed today. I’m told by the council it is for pavement works which are ongoing until March. A diversion is in place at the moment. I’ll report back if I get an answer to when it will re-open.

As if food shopping wasn’t entertaining enough...

Pranksters Speedo Shy and Discoboy came back to Asda in Brackenhall last night to recreate their daft stunt for bemused shoppers.

Pushing a giant amplifier blaring out dance music, Discoboy shouted: “It’s 2016, it’s a new year, it’s a new me and it’s a new disco as well!”

A woman resembling one of the world’s most wanted terrorists, Samantha Lewthwaite, has been spotted checking into a hotel owned by Duncan Bannatyne, according to reports.

Durham Police are said to be probing the sighting of a guest resembling the infamous terror queen, who was once married to Huddersfield July 7 bomber Jermaine Lindsay, arriving at the four-star Bannatyne Hotel in Darlington, County Durham.

The woman’s likeness to the bomb-making mother-of-four, who was dubbed the “White Widow”, aroused suspicion as she checked in at the hotel, part of the Dragons’ Den star’s leisure group, on Boxing Day.

There are water babies, then there’s this...

A family’s flooding nightmare ended in happiness – with a bouncing baby boy born on the bathroom floor.

Neighbours in Park Road, Elland, saw their homes engulfed by the Boxing Day floods.

If that shock wasn’t enough, first time mum-to-be Jess Dann, 20, went into labour two weeks early.
