The M62 incident has cleared thankfully...meanwhile be aware that Town are playing Charlton at home tonight so that means the whole area around the stadium will get snarled up.
The Addicks are second bottom of the league so Town should be hoping for all three points if they want to get out of the relegation danger zone.
News
A nice story (by me) from one of our rural villages. The community in Upper Denby has made good use of an iconic old BT phone box. No, it’s not a library or a flower display, it’s got a life saving defibrillator in it.

If you’re off to Leeds or further east on the M62 any time soon you’ll want to read this...

Huddersfield’s children’s hospice suffered a fire this morning. Thankfully no-one was injured.
Chief executive, Peter Branson, says this: “The team in the building at the time dealt with the incident quickly and appropriately and as a result of their action they prevented anyone being harmed.
“There was one child being cared for in the hospice at the time who was quickly taken to safety.
“The fire appears to have started in a main electricity panel.
“As a result we are likely to be without power for some time and the hospice will therefore have to remain closed until further notice.
“The fire also caused some small damage to one of the offices in the hospice. We would like to thank the West Yorkshire Fire Service who responded immediately and helped to minimise the effects of the fire.”

Have you been following the saga of Elland’s floataway hot tub?
I’ve been ‘hot’ on the trail of this sailaway Jacuzzi which was lost, then found, in the chaos of the Boxing Day floods in Park Road.
The mucky tub has now had a jet wash and is awaiting repair.
Owner Cindy Baker has a rare condition which affects her joints and the hot tub is good therapy. Here’s the latest.
News
Here’s the full story on former soldier Michael Gledhill who has been jailed over the death of cyclist John Radford.
A judge at Leeds Crown Court sentenced Gledhill to four years and eight months.
Gledhill, of Holmfirth, had earlier admitted causing death by dangerous driving.
Mr Radford’s family and friends were in court to see the sentencing.
Gledhill had stood trial and was convicted in October last year of causing serious injury to Mr Radford on July 31 the previous year, when he was alleged to have knocked him off his bike in New Mill, in a road rage incident.
Mr Radford had campaigned for cycle safety and better police investigation of collisions involving cyclists. He was chairman of Huddersfield CTC, a cycling charity.
Carry On Blogging
It’s a bit random this but I’ve just spotted a Twitter account that made me snigger. It’s the aptly-named Carry On Blogging!
We all love the Carry On films and there’s some great pictures on there of some of the favourite characters.
I also spotted my namesake Martin Shaw, of The Professionals fame, in a couple of pictures too.
And no, before you ask, I don’t look anything like him.
If you want to see what I look like here’s a rather embarrassing video of me tacking a Microsoft phone scammer.
