As the Huddersfield Festival of Light draws closer, we take a look back at the event over the years - this time, it's 2010.

The Festival of Light event was a £1/m bonanza for Huddersfield town centre three-years-ago, with the Victorian Byram Arcade reporting its best day of trading for seven years.

The four-day event finished with a sparkling finale as families gathered in St George’s Square to see a 10-minute firework display.

Slaithwaite Band entertained the crowds in St George’s Square before a the firework finale lit up the night sky.

The were set off shortly after the St George’s Square Christmas tree lights were switched on.

During the festival, Belgian company Theater Trol put on Corazon de Angeles, or Angel Heart, in the square on Friday and Saturday night and there were light displays in St Peter’s Gardens, Byram Arcade and John William Street.

Elsewhere, stilt walkers and dancers 'Wrong Size' amused crowds, while a light show at Huddersfield Media Centre illuminated the streets.
