“I don’t want to be just another guy hanging about on the streets.”
These were the determined words of 18-year-old Dalton hip hop musician Tommy, who goes by the name T Mac.
Things haven’t always been easy for the teen, who in March came out of prison after spending a year inside for stealing a phone.
T Mac is now determined to turn his life around and make a career for himself, and wants to use his music to reach out to youngsters and dissuade them from getting involved with gangs.
A police manhunt was continuing today for a former prisoner armed with a knife who threatened officers when they went to arrest him.
The 37-year-old is wanted on recall to prison, but fled from a house in Rufford Road, Milnsbridge, after police arrived.
An extensive search for him continued over the weekend and Det Insp Stef Wiseman, of Huddersfield CID, said: “Arrest enquiries are still ongoing.
A stunning timelapse video has been produced by a Huddersfield man who says it proves planes are spraying particles into the atmosphere to reduce temperatures.
While some may say he has his head in the clouds, Ray Lynch says his video, taken from a window at his home in Moldgreen, shows definitively that chemtrails do exist.

Drivers were left holding their noses after a load of pig excrement was spilled on a main road.

The M62 Eastbound entry slip road at j21 Milnrow is still closed following an accident in which a lorry overturned.
Three recovery vehicles have been working to right the lorry. Traffic is moving well.

Councillors will decide today whether to allow the first fracking operation in the UK for five years.
More protests are expected in Northallerton as a decision is made on an application by UK firm Third Energy to frack for shale gas at its existing drilling site near the village of Kirby Misperton, between Malton and Pickering, North Yorkshire.
Unfair school funding puts hundreds of thousands of children in schools in the North at a disadvantage compared with London youngsters, a major report has claimed.
According to the work done by Public Policy Research (IPPR) North and Teach First, those at primary school level in the north of England receive about £4,600 per pupil in grant funding, £900 less than London.
At secondary level, the North receives around £5,700 per pupil, £100 less than the English average and £1,300 less than London.

The M62 Eastbound lane closed on entry slip road due to overturned lorry at J21 A640 (Milnrow).
Lane two (of two) is closed. Traffic is coping well so far.
There is heavy traffic which is heavier than normal on M62 Eastbound between J23 A640 / A643 (Huddersfield) and J24 A629 (Ainley Top).
Affecting traffic towards Brighouse.
Heavy traffic and traffic heavier than normal on M62 Eastbound between J25 A644 (Brighouse) and J26 M606 / A58 (Chain Bar).
Affecting traffic towards Bradford.
Slow traffic and traffic heavier than normal on M62 Eastbound between J25 A644 (Brighouse) and J26 M606 / A58 (Chain Bar).
