And they're off!

Harry Gration and Paul Hudson are on their way! Ahead of them is a 16-mile walk - three-legged - from Huddersfield to Halifax.

They’ve certainly wrapped up well. Good luck, boys.

Fire at takeaway

There was a serious blaze at the Kingfisher fast food takeaway in Crosland Moor last night.

Fire spread through ducting inside the shop and caused significant damage. Flames spread through the ceiling and floorboards into one of the flats above.

Fire crews were called at 10.30pm and there were staff in the shop who tried to tackle the flames with a dry powder extinguisher.

We’ll have more later.

Children in Need Day

It’s BBC Children in Need Day and Look North presenter Harry Gration and weatherman Paul Hudson are doing a three-legged walk between Huddersfield and Halifax.

They’ve set off from St George’s Square for the near 16-mile journey which will take them to Halifax for 5pm - all being well.

Our photographer will be catching up with them on the route soon so we’ll bring you an update.

Poor old Harry has taken a battering with his week of challenges so far. Here’s what he tweeted earlier.

WARNING: Hope you’ve had your breakfast!

Frosty start

Hello, everybody. Martin here.

It’s a frosty start to the day so you’ll need extra time to de-frost the car.

The roads seem ok, fingers crossed, and the M62 is busy in the usual spots.
