YOUNG people have been invited to free events across Huddersfield this month.
Kirklees Council has organised activities including arts and crafts, sports days and healthy cooking classes.
Community Rangers are also hosting Thai boxing classes and dance workshops across the district throughout August.
Netherton Community Ranger Anna Clayton said: “We hope to get the kids interested in their community.
“The future engagement of kids in the estate is vital as they will become role models for the new younger generation.”
Fartown Village Hall will host an arts and crafts session next Monday (August 15) followed by sports and games on Tuesday, cooking classes on Wednesday, (17), and another sports day on Thursday (August 18).
There will be a pizza cooking class at Netherton Community Centre on Thursday next week followed by a Thai boxing class the following Thursday, August 25, and an end of summer party the following Thursday, September 1.
Young people can also learn about pizza cooking at Walpole Sure Start Centre in Crosland Moor next Tuesday (August 16)
