Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association in the Spen Valley helped organise a church tea party in Dewsbury Moor.
Association members teamed up with the Rev Kathy Robertson and her team from St John the Evangelist Church for a community tea party.
More than 80 people attended helping to raise £500 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in Brackenhall.
Local dignitaries and faith leaders, including Deputy Mayor of Kirklees Clr Paul Kane and Rector of Dewsbury the Rev Canon Kevin Partington, were joined by members of the local community and neighbours.
A range of food and drinks was provided including cakes, samosas, sandwiches and chocolates. Local businesses donated raffle prizes.
Arif Ahmad, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association in the Spen Valley, thanked everyone for their generosity and said the event was a great example of people from different backgrounds working together for the greater good.
