ROBBERYCowlersley, March 25. Victim approached from behind, pushed to ground and robbed of his bag. Attacker made off in direction of the canal. Suspect: white male in 20s with short dirty blond hair, about 5ft 8-9inch tall thin to medium build, wearing a dark coloured hoodie. He looked dirty and unshaven. Paddock, March 27. Victim robbed of his bike. He gave chase and caught up with suspects and the bike was returned to him. Suspects then followed him and took his bike again and threw down a banking, damaging it. The attackers then robbed their victim of cash. Suspect 1: white male 5ft 8-9in, medium build, blonde greased back hair, 17-18 years old, wearing a grey hooded tracksuit bottoms darker grey, three stripes on his hood, black Nike trainers and wearing a silver chain round his neck. Suspect 2: white male, smaller than first suspect, slim build, wearing a hoodie with the hood up, around 13-years-old.

BURGLARYCowlersley, March 26. Victim returned home to see suspect hanging out of rear kitchen window which had been forced open. Youth arrested a short time later. Linthwaite, March 26. Sneak thief got into house through unlocked side door and took keys from inside. Suspect then drove off in victim's vehicle – silver Audi A3 YF08AFZ. Golcar, March 27. Intruder got into house by forcing rear casement window and stole two laptop computers. Linthwaite, March 30. Suspect knocked on front door then walked around side of house, smashed window and climbed into cellar. He then climbed steps to main part of house and stole electrical goods, watches and keys. Slaithwaite, March 30. Sneak thief got into house through unlocked front door and stole bank cards, licence and mobile phone.

SAFETY ALERTSSatellite navigation systems (satnavs) are the main target for thieves. Motorists are advised to remove these from their vehicle completely when not in use or keep satnavs out of sight and ensure it is switched off. There are ways of detecting a satnav system hidden in a vehicle if it is left switched on.
