ELLAND took the lead with two quick tries. Jamie Atkinson then inspired a Meltham comeback with a converted try. Elland replied but the All Blacks dug deep and Jack Clifford scored under the posts. Christian Pestell scored just before half time. Having taken the lead to 14 -18, the visitors dominated the second half. The strength and power of Louis Lawrence led to Pestell, getting his hat trick. Clifford then added a further three tries of his own.

Moldgreen 8 Meltham All Blacks 36
A fine team performance guaranteed Meltham’s place in the final of the Huddersfield Cup. Aidan Egdell set up Danny Hirst to open the scoring then Macauly Bywater scored his first try for the club. A handling error from Moldgreen allowed Danny Hirst over for a simple try then Oliver Kirk increased Meltham’s lead. Elliot scored early in the second half but then Moldgreen scored an excellent solo try. Moldgreen were rewarded for their efforts with a close-range try before Oliver Kirk sealed the Meltham win. Men of the Match: Alex Markowycz and Elliot Morris. Best back: Alex Markowycz. Best forward: Elliot Morris.

Danny Hirst scored under the posts then Elliot Morris went over. Shortly after Elliot Morris scored his second try, the referee sent off an Elland player and coach then Danny Hirst scored. Adam Worrall provided good ball and in the second half an Elland knock-on was seized by Elliot Morris who scored and Danny Hirst jinked through for Meltham’s second hat trick of tries. Jacob ‘New Shirt’ Green scored and Elliot Morris rounded off a fine display with his fourth try.

The visitors had no answer to Wigan’s movement and handling skills and conceded several tries in minutes. However, an error from Wigan allowed Elliot Morris in to score, but Wigan increased their lead. The visitors were rewarded with a try when Danny Hirst scored but Wigan then came back strongly.
