BLOOD donors are being urged to donate despite the festivities of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Jon Latham, spokesman for NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “The Diamond Jubilee is the first in a series of exciting events for the UK but we are asking people to remember hospital patients.
“Blood will be needed during the celebrations, as it is every day, so we would urge people to book an appointment now.”
Sessions are running locally at Bagden Hall Hotel, Scissett, on Tuesday, June 5 from 10am to 1pm and at Denby Dale Pie Hall on Friday, June 8 from 2pm until 4pm and 5pm until 7.30pm.
