SHOPPERS at Asda Brackenhall were offered tips on staying safe as they joined staff and emergency workers to celebrate Yorkshire Day.

Judith Alderman, community ambassador for Asda, organised the event which included a visit from fire engine from Huddersfield Fire Station.

Judith told the Examiner: “We wanted people to come down and celebrate the great work of our emergency services in Yorkshire.

“We had a fantastic day and showed our Yorkshire pride at its best.”

She thanked Huddersfield fire station and Huddersfield North NPT and Kirklees Road Safety Champions for attending on the day.
