THERE is a myth that most teenagers hang around street corners causing nothing but trouble.

Of course nothing could be further from the truth as many youngsters across Huddersfield are well brought up and take part in all kinds of activities from cubs and brownies through to dancing, sport, theatre and music groups ... the list is endless.

Young people do have a wonderful community spirit too as was shown by those who gave up part of their half-term holiday to run a ‘pop-up restaurant’ in Fartown for pensioners.

Well done to those 26 youngsters aged 11 to 13 from the new North Huddersfield Trust School.

You are all brilliant role models and will have helped the older generation to view youngsters in a more positive way.

This has been a brilliant project whichever way you look at it and let’s hope schools in other areas do something similar to open people’s eyes and minds to the next generation.
