LONG-serving members of Brighouse Theatre Productions have been honoured for their work.

Tracey Hindson has served 20 years with the theatrical group, Richard Mitchell 35 years, David Wozencroft 40 years, John White 40 years, Joan Hindson 40 years and Shelagh Jones 60 years.

Shelagh has had roles on and off stage during those 60 years and now looks after the props for shows.

She said: “I have enjoyed every minute and made some nice friends over the years.”

Long-standing member Bessie Davies was presented with the Frank Hartley cup for her continuing support of the theatre group.

Bessie helps front of house during show week, helps with refreshments at various events and offers assistance wherever possible.

Young members who have been involved with the group for three years or more were given certificates. They were Charlotte Bottomley, Darcy Bowers, Imogen Gibson, Emily Mitchell and Lucie Mitchell.

Philippa Gibson was awarded Best Choreographer for the pantomime Robinson Crusoe earlier this year and Amy Roche Best Female performer for her role as Miss Adelaide in the 2011 production of Guys and Dolls. Both were awarded by the Calderdale Theatre Awards.

Members of the theatre group are busy preparing for their production of Mother Goose, which runs at Brighouse Civic Hall from January 17 – 20 2013. There will be three evening performances from 7.15pm and two matinees on Saturday. Tickets are £10 for adults and £7 for children and concessions on 01484 402435.

Before then the group hosts a Family Carol Concert at Central Methodist Church on Thursday, December 13, supported by the Clifton and Lightcliffe Brass Band and the children of Longroyde Junior School.
