The North Huddersfield community turned out with a common goal to host a fantastic football tournament.

A fitting celebration after the disappointment of the England World Cup performance, the event was hosted to support local charities on playing fields at Northfield Hall.

Team ‘Huddz’ went head to head with team Jam African UK after both teams had warmed up and encouraged friendly rivalry from spectators.

And off the pitch there was also fun and entertainment for children and plenty of English and Jamaican tasty treats for visitors.

Music by Million International alongside DJ Hughlin got the party atmosphere in full swing.

Children were entertained with facepainting and a bouncy castle and arts and crafts.

But as always there can only be one winner and Team Jam African UK stormed to victory.

Organiser Howard Belafonte said: “It was a fantastic event uniting the community and giving a real North Huddersfield Celebration for residents.

“We had a great day after the event was postponed intially, but that did not affect turnout and we want to thank everyone who came and those who took part.

“Team Jam African UK were worthy winners and celebrations continued well into the evening.”
