A CHARITY walk in memory of a community champion was held in Emley.
Twenty-five people took part in the annual 10k fundraising walk around the village.
It was organised in memory of local man Richard Daley.
Richard died in Kirkwood Hospice last May aged 68 from cancer.
He was chairman of Emley and Emley Moor Neighbourhood Watch and following his death members arranged the memorial stroll.
This year’s walk raised funds for Kirkwood Hospice, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Watch.
The group gathered at The White Horse pub for the circular trek.
Cynthia Hadfield, who helped organise the walk, said: “They really enjoyed themselves and got around in record time.
“This is the third year we’ve held this – the first year Richard was alive and the second year he died before the walk was due and we changed it to a memorial walk. We aim to keep it going as long as we can.”
