YOUNGSTERS had a super day when they stepped up for a fundraising challenge.

The children donned their best superhero costumes to ensure that they were fully charged for their Toddle Waddle.

The short sponsored walk was staged by Lindley Children Centre’s Family Forum with members of Lindley Methodist Parent and Toddler group.

It was held as part of Barnardo’s Big Toddle, which is the Uk’s biggest charity event for under fives.

Around half a million children take part and this year’s event was superhero-themed.

The group of 21 children from Lindley put their best feet forward with the help of their parents, grandparents and carers.

Jayne Boyle, from the Forum, said: “We started the morning making Superhero masks with lots of glue, glitter, feathers, mess and fun.

“We toddled around the church and community building making lots of noise with our musical instruments - the children loved it!”

The children raised £112 for the children’s charity and were given a badge and sticker for taking part.

Money raised through the annual fundraiser goes to Barnardo’s projects to help children aged under five.

These projects include family centres, playgroups and parenting support services across the UK.
