BRIGHOUSE company Ploughcroft is a shining example of a progressive company that moves with the times.

When Chris Hopkins took over running the family firm it was a traditional roofing and building business.

But over the last seven years he has transformed it to harness the possibilities that come with a country that is becoming increasingly environmentally conscious.

And that success is proved by the fact that Chris fearlessly went into the Dragons’ Den of rich entrepreneurs – and came out with four of them offering to provide him with a big cash injection in return for a stake in the business.

The dragons are notoriously tough to impress and even harder to part from their cash which proves that Chris is on to a winner.

He is now opening training centres countrywide where people can learn how to become solar panel installers.

It sounds like it’s going to be a win-win scenario for all concerned.

Chris can expand, the Dragons will reap the rewards of their investment, installers will find work and the people who have solar panels will save from a greener form of power.

Now that’s progression.
