Staff and residents at Tolson Grange Care Home of Anchor, Dalton, are busy decorating and getting all the ‘props and fancies’ ready for the home’s Christmas Fayre.
It is open to the public and will take place on Saturday, December 13, from 11am till 4pm. Everyone is welcome.
The Christmas Fayre is the one event that really brings everyone together.
Last year, the home experienced an overwhelming response to its advertising and efforts, with visitors ranging from family and friends who travelled from the south to spend time with their loved ones to locals from the nearby villages taking time out to lend their support and helping to raise over £300 for the residents’ amenities funds.
This year, Santa will take time out to visit the enchanting grotto and spend time with some of the young ones.
Festive games for all the family to play will be available, including a special tombola stall where visitors take a “50/50 chance of winning spin” on the barrel of dreams, full of weird and wonderful prizes.
There will be a gift stall for those wishing to make a last minute purchase for their loved ones before the big day.
Tolson’s tea room will be open serving warm drinks and all the usual festive treats.
Enter the draw for one of the three amazingly stocked hampers, large Christmas cake and other festive goodies.
The fayre is a chance for the local community to come through the doors and be part of the invaluable work done at Tolson Grange to support its residents living with dementia, so anyone with a spare few hours on December 13 is encouraged to come along between 11 and 4pm.
The staff are always happy to get into character, so there will be plenty of volunteering elves on hand to ensure the day is a big success.
