MILNSBRIDGE: Oct 25: An elderly woman was duped by a man who claimed to be from the water board. The man called at the woman’s home and said he needed to check whether her water turned blue after it ran for a while. As he kept her talking in the kitchen another man sneaked in and searched rooms. When the woman spotted the second man she told them to leave. Nothing is believed to have been stolen.

Oct 24: Four raiders kicked in the front door at a house at 11.10pm, waking the occupant. The men fled empty-handed, driving off in a silver Vauxhall Astra into Factory Lane.

Oct 3. Thieves stole expensive stainless steel cutting tool from Centrifuge Engineer Services on Radcliffe Road. Alarm sounded and suspects drove off in pick-up truck.

Oct 4. Boiler stolen from yard

Oct 23: Fuel was stolen from a HGV in the old railway goods yard in Scar Lane.

SLAITHWAITE: Oct 30: Vandals smashed a ground floor window at Slaithwaite Town Hall in Carr Lane.

October 19. Raiders forced the lock on a roller shutter door at Colne Valley Motor Parts Centre in Carr Lane but were unable to get inside.

LINTHWAITE: Oct 16: Thieves forced the electronic door on a garage and stole power tools and three bikes.

October 17. Thieves forced the lock on a shed and stole welding equipment and a mountain bike.

CROSLAND MOOR: Oct 24: Raiders used a garden seat to climb up to a UPVC kitchen window, remove beading and prise out the glass unit. Raiders got inside setting off the alarm. They fled with a laptop.

Oct 26: Burglars sneaked into a house through an unlocked door and stole a TV, holdall and the keys to a Ford Fiesta which they drove off in.

Would-be burglar spotted on the roof of Seventh Day Adventist Church on College Street. Police arrest suspect at the scene.

Oct 5. Lawnmower stolen from shed.

Oct 6. Vandal smashed back window of parked car.

Oct 6. Burglar broke into changing rooms at Moor End Academy and stole players’ property.

GOLCAR: Oct 8. Catalytic converter stolen from Mercedes Sprinter van.
