CRIMINAL DAMAGE

At Beech J&I School, Golcar, suspects climbed on to the roof and removed and broke roof tiles and damaged felt. At James Street, Golcar, vandals pulled off the passenger side wing mirror from a parked car and at Victory Avenue, Paddock, a vandal poured chemicals on to car parked on a house driveway, damaging paintwork.

BURGLARY

Two houses in the Golcar area have been broken into. A house on Cowlersley Lane was attacked and a failed attempt was made to force open a window. The raider made off empty handed. Another property, on Longfield Avenue, Golcar, had a window smashed and was raided. It is not yet known what was stolen.

VEHICLE CRIME

A black Seat Ibiza was stolen from the Tintern Avenue, Milnsbridge area. It was recovered from Bull Green Road, Longwood, a short while later. A set of step ladders was stolen from the roof of a car on Mulberry Court, Golcar, on Jan 23. PACT MEETINGS

Partners and Community Together meetings (PACT) are changing venue and we are making it personal to YOU. Since the start of PACT meetings we here in The Valleys have attended area committee meetings and given an update at those. But now as the area committees have all joined together to form The Town and Valley Committee for public meetings we are on the move as well. From next week we will be at the Longwood Mechanics’ Hall on the first Saturday of the month between 10am and 12noon as follows: next Saturday February 5, Saturday March 5, Saturday April 2, Saturday May 7, Saturday June 4. Residents are invited to join your local officers on the first and third Tuesday of ever month at the rear of Slaithwaite Fire Station where there is a small police office.
