A THRIVING domino league held its annual presentation night at the Marsden Band Room.

The Linthwaite, Marsden & Slaithwaite Domino League celebrated its successes.

Every team was represented and the friendliness and good humour of the players made for a fun night.

Dominoes at a competitive level is described as a game of “guile and cunning”.

The awards were presented by league treasurer Sue Haigh.

While the league is a lifeline for older players, dominoes is not a game defined by age.

New players and teams are always welcome.

Matches are played on Tuesday nights at various venues and new teams wanting to join the league should contact Cheryl Dewhirst on 01484 842341 or 07948 253239.

The league’s annual general meeting will be held at the Royal Oak, Linthwaite, on July 8 at 8pm.

Entries for the new season – September to June – will be accepted on the night.
