VOLUNTEERS at Colne Valley Museum have apologised that they had to cancel the Havercakes event planned for last Sunday.

The now traditional annual event where His Majesty’s 33rd Regiment of Foot were due to appear was a victim of the weekend’s bad weather.

Access to the museum entrance was dangerously icy and there was no sand/grit in the bin at the top of the lane so unfortunately the museum volunteers were forced to close it.

The volunteers hope to be able to stage the event later this year if at all possible.

Any new dates and times will be published in the local media and on their website: www.colnevalleymuseum.org.uk
