IT’S a day when people all over our town and across the country do crazy things – for charity.

Children and adults got into the Comic Relief spirit, pedalling, dancing, swimming and dressing up in schools, factories, shops and offices.

Whether you were trying to move Maltesers from one bowl to another or donning your pyjamas for a shift in the supermarket, there were just two goals in mind. Having a laugh and raising money for a charity that has caught the imagination of the nation.

Since it began in 1985, Comic Relief has raised a staggering £800m and helped change many lives as a result.

It has worked in 70 countries around the world and has helped to change millions of lives as a result.

The charity fights poverty and social injustice in this country and across the world, year-round.

So if spending one day wearing red noses, silly wigs and even that Malteser challenge can put big smiles on so many other people’s faces and change so many lives, then Comic Relief will be with us for a very long time.
