Brighouse

POLICE and councillors will meet the public at the town’s Ward Forum and Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meeting tomorrow, May 2 from 7pm at Brighouse High School, Finkil Street.

MEET the brewers. The Barge at Brighouse on Armytage Road will welcome a brewer from Timothy Taylor – and they’re inviting you to sup some of the beers this Thursday, May 3 from 6.30pm. People can sample the beer for free and take part in a quiz and giveaways.

Elland

A COFFEE morning will take place at Willow Court, Victoria Road, Elland, for St Mary’s Church. It takes place from 10am until midday and is open for all to attend and support the church.

THE annual All Saints Art Exhibition takes place from May 4-7. A special preview takes place on Friday at 7pm and admission is £5 with nibbles. The church exhibition runs on Saturday from 10.30am until 5pm, Sunday from midday until 5pm, and Monday from 10.30am until 5pm and admission then is £2 or free for under 11s.

ALL Saints Church, Elland, hosts a Chit Chat Club at the Canon Winter centre at 1.30pm on May 9. It’s open for all to attend the social gathering.

Rastrick

An Audience with Secret Millionaire Carl Hopkins, radio presenter Liz Green and MP Craig Whittaker, takes place in the Rastrick Community Hub, at the Tech Centre, on Friday May 11. Tickets are £5 from 01484 710 235.

Lightcliffe

LIGHTCLIFFE and District Local History Society host a public talk on May 2. Michael and Barbara Stephenson with a look at St Matthew’s Church incumbents and where they have lived. Admission is £2 for non-members and the talk begins at 8pm at Lightcliffe CE Primary School, Wakefield Road.

Calderdale

WATCH the birds at the Wildside Walk: Colourful Calderdale tomorrow, May 2. It’s a chance to get out and up close to nature with a series of walks that let you take in the beauty and variety of Calderdale’s countryside. Meet Chris Sutcliffe at the top car park, Shibden Park, Lister’s Road, for a short walk. It starts at 5.30pm and admission is free.
