KEEP YOUR STUFF SAFE! We have had several thefts from vehicles in the area over the last few days where car windows have been smashed and property stolen from inside. These vehicles have probably been targeted because property such as sat-navs, computer laptops, handbags and jackets were left on display. Please remove any personal belongings and valuables from your vehicles, even if your car is parked on the drive. We will be increasing our patrols in the area, particularly in Shelley, Skelmanthorpe and Storthes Hall where the latest incidents have occurred. If you see or hear anything suspicious, ring 999.

Raider tried to get into vehicle via perspex roof air vent. Suspect/s disturbed by witness and made-off on foot and on bicycles. Two suspects arrested nearby. Kirkburton Oct 1. Blue Peugeot 107 reg YD08BSU stolen using key found in vehicle referred to below. Kirkburton, Oct 1. Raider smashed quarterlight window of vehicle on driveway to get into and steal car keys which are used to steal vehicle referred to above. A CD player was also stolen. Kirkburton, Oct 3. Sneak thief spotted unlocked vehicle parked on roadside with victim unloading shopping and opened boot and stole a computer laptop. Emley, Oct 3. Thief got out of white transit type van and stole stone from wall. Suspect: white male, approx 40-45yrs old, small / skinny build, fair or light brown hair. Shelley. Oct 5. Thief got into car parked in driveway by smashing offside quarterlight and stole sat-nav. Shelley, Oct 5. Thief smashed car window to get inside and steal sat-nav. Shelley, Oct 5. Raider smashed back quarterlight to get inside and steal ipod.
BURGLARYAlmondbury, Oct 1. Raider got inside house by unknown means and stole TV and video game. Youth arrested. Dalton, Sept 28. Raider used crowbar to jemmy open patio door at back to get into house. Almondbury, Sept 27. Intruder forced garage door to get inside and steal property. Lepton, Sept 28. Raider forced garage door lock to get inside. Believed nothing stolen.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY Almondbury, Oct 3. Attacker jemmied back door in attempt to get inside, but suspect disturbed by victim and made off empty handed.
