POLICE NEWS ROUND-UP: Insp Mark Trueman writes: "Insp Chief Supt John Robins, Kirklees divisional commander has now presented me with the Kirklees Policing Pledge which with my staff from The Valleys NPT we will aim to deliver by tackling your local policing priorities or concerns. These will be based on what you, the local community believe are the issues that affect our community. My officers will be holding regular "Police and Communities Together" or PACT meetings. I hope you will come along to one of your local meetings. Meet the team and discuss what concerns you have and we together will make our Policing Priorities for the coming weeks. Monthly updates will also be provided on local crime and policing issues. By working together with other partner agencies and listening to you, we will make The Valleys locality a safer neighbourhood to live work and play. CRIMINAL DAMAGE@ Thongsbridge, March 14. Outer glass pane of double glazed lounge window smashed by fired gun pellet. Holmfirth High School March 15. Window smashed at rear of school. Meltham C of E School, Holmfirth Road, Meltham, March 13. Side security light pulled from school wall. Rodgers’ Plant Hire, Woodhead Road, Honley, March 15. Intruders got into yard area of shop by climbing over the perimeter fence. The lock on the gate into the yard was damaged in the raid.

BURGLARY: Jewsons, New Mill Road, Netherthong, March 11. Intruder climbed over fence into secure yard and stole a large quantity of property. March 16, Scholes. Small kitchen window jemmied open and intruders climbed in and unsuccessfully tried to remove large flat screen television through windows damaging windows and the TV.

ARSON: Hair Salon, St George’s Road, Scholes, March 11. Lighted firecrackers wedged into letter box, setting fire to door and causing smoke damage to premises.

THEFT: Holmfirth, March 12. Large number of stone slates stolen from roof. Cartworth Junior & Infant School, Cartworth Road, March 13. Lead stolen from school roof. Westwood Yarns Ltd, Washpit Mills, Holmfirth, March 15. Conifers stolen from mills yard. Wood Nook, Meltham, March 15. White Bateson Deueville horse trailer reg S977XNE, detached from vehicle at an equestrian centre and stolen. Yellow graphic of a jumping horse on side and side jockey door tied with string.

VEHICLE CRIME: Netherthong, March 10. Front passenger door forced open and satnav, ipod and Nintendo DS stolen. Honley. March 11 Thief got into unlocked vehicle and stole briefcase, satnav and phone charger. Holmbridge, March 14 Two vehicles stolen in street. Yellow Corsa reg M71PBM and red Nova K742XRJ. New Mill, March 14. Front windscreen attacked and cracked. Honley, March 15. Offside rear quarterlight window smashed and thief, reached in to unlocked door and got in. Handbrake released and vehicle pushed down driveway. Vehicle abandoned at scene – suspect possibly disturbed. Meltham Mills Industrial Estate, March 15. Padlocked tool box on back of vehicle forced open and power and hand tools stolen.
