Police arrived and suspects found short distance away and arrested. Golcar, July 14. Three suspects spotted in vehicle parked on driveway of property. Two got out and forced open garage door, but were disturbed by witness and make off towards Manchester. Driver of vehicle: white male, stocky build, short black hair, clean shaven, 40s, wearing a light coloured T-shirt. First youth: white male, late teens, short dark hair. Second youth: white male, taller and stockier than other. short black hair wearing a blue and yellow T-shirt with a pattern of hoops. Vehicle - white long wheel base Ford Transit van registration W811 CWT. Linthwaite, July 19. Gas and water pipes stolen from outside house wall. Marsden, July 18. Two large Yorkshire top stones stolen. Two more pulled off wall but left propped up at scene. Marsden, July 20. Handbag inadvertently left unattended at a bus stop stolen. Methodist Church, Carr Lane, Slaithwaite, July 18. Lead flashing stolen from low roof at rear of church. Milnsbridge, July 18. Raiders got into industrial unit by piling wooden pallets against wall and stole armoured electrical cables. Old Police Station, Manchester Road, Slaithwaite, July 19. Stone flags stolen from yard of building. Police were called and suspect made off from scene in vehicle, but was arrested nearby.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY Milnsbridge, July 19. Paving slab used to smash side kitchen window in bid to get inside. Pizza Plus, Colne Valley Business Park, Linthwaite, July 15. Suspect climbed onto bin and cut plastic mesh grill and got into back of unit. No entry made. Raider also tried to force steel gate to front of unit using scaffolding pole.

THEFT Co-op, Lewisham Road, Slaithwaite, July 20. Suspect went into shop and stole items concealing them in a rucksack, then left without paying. He went back later that morning and again selected display items. As he left suspect challenged by staff, but managed to escape. Suspect : white male, approx 50yrs, 5ft 8ins, stocky build, short greying hair at the sides but balding on top and at the back, unshaven, wearing blue jeans, black jumper and black shoes and carrying a black rucksack.

ATTEMPTED THEFT Slaithwaite, July 20. Suspect climbed up side of premises and tried to remove lead flashing from roof projection under bedroom window.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE Milnsbridge, July 17. Large planter outside house smashed. United Churches Healing Ministry, New Street, Milnsbridge, July 19. Metal church gate pulled off hinges and church sign damaged.
