Tyre slasher strikesOver the festive period residents of Clayton West have suffered two attacks, one on Christmas Eve and the other during the early evening of January 2. Some 17 tyres have been slashed in the area of Chapel Hill, Victoria Street, Wakefield Road and Dearne Park. BURGLARYEmley Moor, Dec 31. Raider smashed glass in back ground floor window and climbed through activating house alarm. He made off empty handed. Kirkburton, Jan 1. Suspect got in through back door or window by unknown means and stole silverware, clocks and kettle. Kirkburton, Jan 5. Bolt croppers used to cut off lock on garage door, but no entry gained. Grange Moor, Jan 6. Raiders got into detached stone built barn and cut chains to remove two secure items – a blue child’s mini motorbike and a red quad bike. Highburton, Jan 6. Suspects got into integral garage by unknown means and were spotted making numerous trips by crawling under garage door which was slightly open. Property removed but suspects eventually disturbed and escaped empty handed. Man later arrested. Kirkburton, Jan 7. Thieves went into front garden and stole three locked and secured bicycles, using bolt cutters to release security cables. Skelmanthorpe, Jan 7. Thieves removed glass window pane from back garage window to get in and stole four off-road bikes from inside by opening the up-and-over door from inside. One bike is yellow, one white and two are black. Shelley, Jan 7. Raiders snapped europrofile lock on side upvc door to get into house. Vehicle keys taken from kitchen and used to steal black Audi A4 registration WP09 UPA and black VW Beetle registration R7 VLL.
