Police are also appealing for information following the theft at a shop on High Street, Clayton West. The incident was at 6.30pm on Tuesday, March 3, when the suspect went into the shop and threw a small tub of flowers at the victim. This missed, but knocked several items off the counter. The victim ran to the back of the shop and the suspect made off with the till and its contents. He is described as a white male, 5ft 10 and in his late teens to late 20s. BURGLARY: Dalton, March 14. Elderly victim distracted by bogus water board workman who went upstairs and stole her purse. Suspect: white male, 5ft 5ins, slim build, dark short hair, pale complexion, Yorkshire accent, wearing dark suit and anorak.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: Lepton, March 11. An intruder tried to force metal sliding doors on a metal garden shed damaging the doors but not geeting in.

VEHICLE CRIME: Almondbury, March 13. Brick thrown at at moving bus causing smashing side window. Dalton, March 14. Jaguar XJ6 stolen – but later found with extensive damage. Almondbury, March 14. Door lock foced, vehicle searched and radio and speaker stolen. Almondbury, March 17. Front door opened, vehicle and cash in centre console stolen. Lepton: March 17. Bonnet bent back and front offside window smashed.
