A dance club is leaping for joy after celebrating its 25th birthday.

It was a big event for Crosland Moor-based Ann and Carole School of Dancing, whose owners have worked tirelessly over the years not just for their pupils but for the community too.

Carole Bradley and Ann Cooper are behind the successful club, which has been helping people aged from three to 65 realise their potential and has so far donated £25,000 to charity since 1989.

Based at Crosland Moor Community Centre in Park Road and now in a studio in Huddersfield’s The Base in New Street they put on shows to fund goodwill projects nearby and further afield.

There, novices have been turned into twinkle-toed performers, who can perform styles such as tap, theatre craft and ballet.

Carole, who juggles her love of dance with another job, was thrilled to have reached the milestone.

She said: “Our success is a partnership that works due to our loyal and dedicated children and our pride in the monies we have raised for charity year on year.

“We hold these shows annually and we give all the monies raised to charity.

“As our school was 25 years old in December the last show was certainly a bit of a special one.”

Her school is now taking on new pupils at both its bases, where the first month of lessons will be free.

Children aged two to six can dance at Crosland Moor Community Centre and those aged six to nine are invited to The Base For more information, call Carole on 07896 808092.
