A CUTE guest is set to get young bookworms into the festive spirit.
Author Susanne Schroder will be at the Children’s Bookshop in Lindley on Tuesday, December 4. She will be signing copies of her book The Donkey’s First Christmas – and joining her will be a donkey from The Donkey Sanctuary in Leeds. The book, which tells the story of the nativity, involves a bad-tempered donkey. All ends happily when the reluctant hero is charmed by Mary. He then exhausts himself carrying her considerable weight all the way to Bethlehem. Sonia Benster, who owns the Lidget Street bookshop, hopes that the event will help kick-start Christmas. The signing will be between 3.30 and 5.30pm.
