READING about the recent vandalism in the Holmfirth area, the people to blame are, firstly, the parents who have nurtured these scumbags. Secondly, I would blame the politicians who pander to all the ongoing wishy-washy hand-wringing agenda of rights for all but no responsibilities from the wet behind the ears brigade.

We need people in authority who have done a day’s work, not simply worked for some political party following graduation in politics or sociology.

The time has arrived for a crackdown on the riffraff and a rebuttal of the human rights laws which has helped to create the current level of law and disorder.

This government has a Minister for Children; what nonsense, children have enough rights. What next a Minister for Parents?

The nanny state with its busybody interfering is ineffective, apart from snooping on people to see how much more tax they can squeeze out of us.

While they fiddle at the edges dealing with nothing of great importance the country is going to rot. Even firefighters cannot go about their business without attacks.

Perhaps they could use water cannon with a permanent dye on the little treasures. But that may breach their human rights!
