NEIGHBOURHOOD police have vowed they will investigate alleged offences involving snowball throwing.
Pc Sally Baines, from Kirkburton police station, said: “We have had lots of calls about snowballs.
“They may be fun and frolics for some people, but not for everybody, especially older people who can find it upsetting and intimidating.
“If you are having problems with people throwing snowballs, please report it on the Non-Emergency number - 101.
“You are not wasting our time!”
DENBY DALE: Jan 14. Thief entered land by unknown access route and stole tractor bonnet.
Jan 17. Vehicle advertised for sale in Autotrader. Suspect asked victim for a test drive of vehicle. Victim then drove vehicle with suspect in passenger seat around the area. Suspect then asked to sit in the driver’s seat of vehicle. Victim allowed this. When victim was out of the vehicle suspect shut driver’s door and drove off with vehicle and keys. The stolen car is a black Vauxhall Astra registration number YD60 YKS.
GAWTHORPE: Jan 18. Raider approached back of property and used garden spade to damage window frame by pulling it out of brickwork in wall. Window smashed and raider got into house and stole jewellery and cash.
KIRKBURTON: Jan 18. Intruder entered summer house at rear of property and stole a plaster three foot tall Greek-style column.
