POLE Moor Riding Club held an Easter Bonnet Ride and competition on Easter Sunday.
The ride was ideal for members of all ages to enjoy a gentle hack – particularly small children.
The riders met at the Pennine Manor where the hotel manager Mr Roy Gilpin welcomed them and judged the 'best bonnet' competition.
Then 15 riders enjoyed a ride around Scapegoat Hill showing off their beautiful bonnets. The steady ride also enabled the youngsters and their ponies to get used to riding in a group and learning road sense and manners, in the Easter sunshine.
The winner of the best bonnet was Grace Walker riding 'Just Simply Red' from Stainland.
Runner-up Megan Fletcher riding Rhona and third Molly Arthur riding Treacle.
Ride leader was Gina Whitely riding Amber.
Sisters Gina and Alison Whitely organised the event.
Also on Easter Monday the club sent a team to Turberry Arena, Greetland, to enter a team gymkhana competition. The team did the club proud finishing fifth out of many entries.
The 'Fun Show', sponsored by the Jack O’Mitre at Pole Moor, is tomorrow at Bolster Moor and everyone is welcome–- there are classes for all! A not-to-be-missed event!
