PUPILS at an Elland school welcomed the Mayor of Calderdale to a performance of their end of year show.
Elland Church of England School performed their annual leavers’ production of Cinderella when the cast was made up of Year 5 and 6 pupils, along with a choir of Year 2, 3, 4 and 5 youngsters who performed “brilliantly” with lots of singing and dancing and were well prepared after attending after-school rehearsals.
The matinee performances were attended by local schools and residents from local care homes and the final performance was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Calderdale, Clr John Hardy and wife Janet, along with parents and friends of the school.
FLYING THE FLAG: The panto principals – Holly Hildred, as Cinderella, and the three ugly sisters were played by Daniel Hoyle, Callum Blevins and Lewis Calland.
