AN ELLAND school is seeking permission to upgrade and alter its sports area.
It will mean the removal of one of the football pitches from the sports area at Brooksbank School and the creation a 800m cycle track, new changing rooms and a car park for 40 vehicles and 12 bikes.
There will also be a new access road off Hammerstone Leach Lane, Elland. The changes are intended to broaden the site’s sporting scope.
The current football and rugby pitches will be upgraded and the cycling track will provide further sporting opportunities for the school and wider community.
The planning application is open to public comment via Calderdale Council.
