AN emergent local artist is working on The Italian Job with his latest exhibition.

Kirkburton-based Neil Cooper-Smith is currently displaying his work on the walls of a popular Italian restaurant in the district.

Neil, an architect, artist and sculptor, paints a diverse range of subjects, using various media. His paintings are in private collections in the UK and USA.

Neil, is currently showing some of his paintings at La Dolce Vita, at Scissett, a converted former Methodist chapel.

He was featured at a recent one-man show in Holmfirth and has exhibited at Cannon Hall and The Cooper Gallery in Barnsley.

His work on show at La Dolce Vita has already attracted much attention and he sold two of his paintings within days of launching the restaurant display.

As an architect Neil is best known for the conceptual design of the award winning Creative Arts Building at the University of Huddersfield when he was working with Yorkshire architects Darnton EGS.
