POLICE NEWS ROUND-UPExtra patrols will be on duty in the Kirklees Division over the next few weeks to tackle anti-social behaviour in the villages. This is as a result of extra funding from the Home Office. The first of these patrols, on August 8, saw alcohol being confiscated from a number of under age youths.After a number of thefts of audio equipment from Ford Focuses and thefts of 4x4 vehicles – particularly Land Rover Defenders – night time patrols resulted in the arrest of four males. They had travelled into the area from South Yorkshire and have been bailed while further evidence is gathered. Anyone with a Ford Focus or a 4x4 should please be aware.Intelligence is being collated about drug dealing in the area. Driver of moving vehicle heared two shots and a crack on the window. He then saw a group of children with two of them holding blue coloured pistols. The offside window was chipped. BURGLARY Bridge Works, Fenay Lane, Fenay Bridge, August 15. Vehicle used by offenders to ram the main entrance doors to workshop smashing the doors off their runners. Vehicle believed to have entered the building activating alarm.
