Distant relatives, however, lived in Huddersfield, their surname Morris.
There is a strong connection with Liverpool too, specifically Bold Street.

“I am compiling my Morris family history,” says Lyn. “I am a descendant of John Chislett Morris, who was born in 1836 in Warrington, the son of William Grigg Morris and Frances Emily Francis.”
The two pictures featured have come down from J C Morris’s family and Lyn knows they were taken in Bold Street, Liverpool.
“I feel there must be someone in Huddersfield who has possibly a copy of the same photos that may be able to identify the people in the photos,” she said.
“I do know that some of the Morris family moved into the Huddersfield area in the early days.”
John Chislett Morris emigrated to Victoria, Australia in 1855 aged 18 and worked in the goldfields to begin with.
