THEY told Joanne Senior her son would never walk.

But now little Charlie Senior is taking his first steps, thanks to the hard work of staff at Castle Hill School.

Charlie, who will be five next week, is managing to walk with a frame and can even take a few steps holding his mum’s hand.

The youngster, from Golcar, was left blind and with brain damage after being shaken by his father Paul Sykes when he was just a baby. Sykes was later jailed for the attack
