All ages keeping Fit as a Fiddle

IT’S not just the younger generation who are getting fit this January.

Age UK Calderdale and Kirklees's Fit as a Fiddle project is returning to St Cuthbert’s Church, Birkby.

The Fit as a Fiddle programme is offering the over 50s the chance to enjoy physical exercise in a fun environment.

A spokesperson said: “We are thrilled to be hosting this project which is funded by NHS Calderdale and focuses on participants over the age of 50. Fit as a Fiddle co-ordinator, Fiona Preston said sessions include Zumba Gold – which can be done either seated or standing – and New Age Kurling, an adapted form of the original curling game.

The current project Fit as a Fiddle runs on Tuesdays from January to March. Anyone who is over 50 is invited to go long and join in. Sessions confirmed are Tuesday January 29, February 19 and March 19 at 1.30pm. For more information contact 07940 491171 or email: fpreston@acck.org.uk
