Greetland 1 Honley 5

HONLEY bounced back after two defeats, starting brightly with some strong running from Horne.

Higginbottom saw a shot bounce off the bar before a lapse in concentration saw the hosts take the lead and then hammer a shot against the bar.

Within seconds of the restart Honley were level, when a long range effort from Murray beat the keeper.

A second soon followed after good work by Higginbottom and Durrans ended in the former’s cross to the far post being side footed home by Horne.

Honley were now well on top and creating plenty of chances, while their defence was solid with Marsden.

A third came after a mix up in the Greetland defence allowed Durrans to squeeze a shot home from an acute angle and it was 4-1 when good passing by Horne and Duczenko freed full-back Nunn, whose long range shot flew into the bottom corner.

The fifth came when a good ball found Alsop, whose let a left foot bullet bulged the net.
