A children's hospice is celebrating after receiving a cash boost.

Huddersfield Pennine Rotary Club raised £500 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

The charity supports children with life-shortening conditions and their families in the West Yorkshire area.

The money was raised by club members from a bridge day and lunch held at Outlane Golf Club.

Club president Brian Walker handed over the cheque to the Hospice’s community fundraiser Lisa Calvert.

The presentation was held at the golf club on New Hey Road.

He said: “Huddersfield Pennine Rotary Club has been associated with the Children’s Hospice since its inception.

“We aim to continue to support this very worthwhile local cause for the foreseeable future”

In accepting the cheque Lisa expressed how grateful the Hospice was in having the loyal support of the club.

She added that she looked forward to this continuing.
