Brighouse

MORE than 100 artists will showcase their work as the Brighouse Art Circle hosts its 64th annual exhibition at the Smith Art Gallery in the town’s library until June 9. There will be over 100 original works of art for sale.

Children aged eight-12 can get creative at the Saturday Art Club at Smith Art Gallery, Halifax Road, on May 12 from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Call 01422 284459 to book. Admission is £5.

Elland

On Saturday, May 12, at 1.30pm take a walk through the picturesque Bluebell Woods with the Halifax Scientific Society. Participation is free but donations to the Society will be gratefully received. Greetland

On Monday, May 14, a ‘find your feet’ walk for people with low fitness or limited mobility takes place. It will last around 20 minutes and is designed to encourage people to take more exercise. Calderdale

On Saturday, May 12, there will be a 60-minute walk around Savile Park. An easy health walk, lasting around 60 minutes, it is mostly on level ground and is suitable for new walkers. It starts at 10.30am from the Flutterbites Cafe, Manor Heath Park.

Get involved in Yorkshire Organ Day at Halifax Minster on Saturday. It’s a day full of music, recitals, talks and discussions. An enjoyable day for everyone interested in the organ and its music. An indoor craft market takes place at Holme Street Art Centre, Hebden Bridge on Saturday from 10am until 4pm. Local artists, designers and craftspeople will be selling a variety of hand made items including textiles, ceramics, jewellery, wood, art, cards and more.
