PUPILS now have the school holidays to fine tune their skills in dance, singing and even rapping – after the Arctic weather postponed their talent show.

St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Birkby had planned to host the event on Friday March 22 but due to the unseasonable snow, staff made the decision to postpone.

But the students have not let the bad weather dampen their spirits.

When students returned to the classroom after the weekend they used different skills to get cracking on a student council enterprise competition.

The pupils are being challenged to see which class can raise the largest amount from a £10 starting fund.

The proceeds of this activity will then be put into a fund for business projects in less fortunate countries around the world.

All proceeds raised from the events will benefit Catholic Care, which supports vulnerable children and adults throughout the Diocese of Leeds.

Hopefully, St Patrick’s Got Talent fundraiser will be rescheduled for this coming term.
