Health centre nurses on the great run
IT’S not too late to sponsor local nurses who are running the Great North Run.
Heart failure nurse specialist Anne Molloy and respiratory nurse specialist Sarah Cowdell, who both work from Fartown Health Centre, will be pounding the pavements of Gateshead in the north east for charity.
Anne, who is employed by Locala-CIC is running for the British Heart Foundation due to her close links with the charity.
She said: “I visit patients with a diagnosis of heart failure in their own home and provide support for both the patient and their carers.
“The British Heart Foundation are continually funding research into cardiovascular disease and I see the benefits of their research in my day to day work.
“I took part in the Great North Run last year and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere.
“I raised over £600 and would like to raise more this year as a thank you to the BHF and their continuing support.”
