IT’S hard to understand how or why anyone would set a snare on such public land as Castle Hill.
A family witnessed the harrowing, lingering and painful death of a fox trapped in a cruel snare.
Any animal such as a dog or cat could quite easily have been caught in this snare and now who knows what other traps are hidden on the hill.
The area is popular among families and dog walkers so it also makes you wonder if children who run off the paths could also be in danger.
Whoever put the snare there did so in a reckless manner and we can now only hope that they see the coverage in the Examiner and remove any other traps they may have set.
