A FARM shop has won three cash prizes for its food – and donated all the money to charity.
Simon Haigh and Andrew Whitwam, who run Bolster Moor Farm Shop, above Golcar, donated £500 to Cancer Research UK.
The business partners recently beat 240 other butchers to the ‘Banger of the Year’ title as part of National Sausage Week.
They also won ‘Best Yorkshire Pie’ at Skipton’s Auction Mart’s Pie Fest in November, and picked up the top prize for best pork pie from the Ripponden Pork Pie Appreciation Society.
Simon, 43, said: “I just think the charity is a really good cause. It is better that the money goes to Cancer Research UK and does some good.”
The farm shop, on Bolster Moor Road, has only been open since November last year but attracts over 1,000 customers a week.
The butcher’s shop has recently started selling bread and confectionery.
